As CEO, Mr. Cummings works from Wilmington, NC where he leads and oversees Paschal•Murray’s recruitment efforts and business development. He works closely with the firm’s CEO Emeritus and advisors to ensure Paschal•Murray’s clients receive the unrivaled customer service they have come to expect.
Beau has a passion for people and subscribes to the philosophy that a successful fundraising enterprise must be rooted in genuine relationships; the donor and the organization must be partners. As the leader for the fundraising efforts for the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s Cameron School of Business he was part of unprecedented and record setting fundraising successes. As part of University Advancement, Beau served on and chaired many successful search committees; Beau’s experience encompasses campaign readiness, developing a case for support, identifying strategic priorities, donor relations, data analytics, development metrics, annual giving, planned giving, solicitation and a complete understanding of the individual skill sets and components necessary for a successful and sustainable philanthropic giving program.
Beau earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from Marshall University and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) where he has also taken courses towards a master’s degree in Finance and Investment Management. Beau started his career in sales and marketing in the pharmaceutical industry before joining University Advancement at UNCW where he spent over 12 years working in major gifts. Beau believes in giving back as much as possible; he currently serves as a faculty member with the Institute for Charitable Giving and as Secretary on the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Cape Fear Region Board of Directors. He served as the co-chair of the membership committee for the Network of Nonprofit Search Consultants, he is a member of the Wilmington Kiwanis Club where he served on the Board of Directors from 2016-2018; he also served as the President of the Wilmington Investors Roundtable when he was a member of the Board of Governors from 2016-2021. Beau currently serves as a committee member on the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy’s Affiliate Member Advisory Council.
Beau is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and he currently serves as a CFRE International Ambassador. He is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and has been a member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) where he has participated in domestic and international conferences to further his understanding of the philanthropic environment in which nonprofit organizations operate. Beau is an affiliate member of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), and in 2020 he completed AHP’s Virtual Institute Fundraising Management track, a program based on the Madison Institute’s curriculum.
